What is Wing-Chun?

Wing-Chun is a truly amazing and effective southern Chinese Kung-Fu style. It is one of the most practical and popular Chinese martial art systems. Wing-Chun is a perfect art for any possible actual self-defense and combat.
Wing-Chun, being an advanced and a very aesthetic method of self defense, includes three hand forms, one wooden dummy form, eight kicking principles, the butterfly swords, the 61/2 point long staff, one rattan ring form and the Chi-Sao (sticky hands) training method unique to Wing-Chun.

The famous Wing-Chun drill "Chi-Sao" helps develop the 13 principles in Wing-Chun, such as posture, position, timing, distance, power, the way, reaction, guts, aggressiveness, controlling, decision, reserve and adjustment, as well as mastery over the techniques of the system. When practiced correctly, Wing-Chun will lead to balanced development of the 3 aspects: physical, mental and spiritual.

Wing-Chun, therefore, is a scientific yet theoretically based martial arts form. A Wing-Chun practitioner is a professional close-range combat fighter who is able touse defense and attack at the same time. A Wing-Chun practitioner is agile yet powerful, delivering quick, close-range punches and kicks rather than locks and grabs.

Other than the martial arts elements discussed above, Wing-Chun practitioners learn how to use Wing-Chun principles in their lives: at work, at home, while driving, shopping, during the unexpected problems encountered, etc. Therefore, being able to apply these major principles to their everyday lives, all Wing-Chun practitioners feel more comfortable and self confident, because the way they look at the daily problems is completely different when compared to others. Artele martiale si autodezvoltarea

Omul dintotdeauna a luptat, datorita nevoii de supravietuire, mancare, dominare, drept la partenera…

Cand vorbim despre arte martiale, majoritatea se gandeste la lupta, autoaparare sau agresivitate. Din fericire practicarea artelor martiale cuprinde un spectru mult mai larg de abilitati psihofizice si comportamentale (da, si agresivitatea poate fi o abilitate), cea ce face din start o diferenta vizibila dintre un bataus, luptator, si un practicant adevarat de arte martiale.

O arta martiala completa presupune si practici de relaxare psihofizica, meditative si nu in ultimul rand spirituale. Pe langa un corp sanatos pe masura puteti ajunge la urmatoarele: reflexe mult mai antrenate, dezvoltarea fortei, vitezei, spiritul de observatie, atentie si presimtire foarte dezvoltat, un autocontrol foarte bun, prin eliminarea fricilor, complexelor si tensiunilor, se ajunge la o personalitate echilibrata cu stima si incredere in sine si in ceialti plina de iubire, compasiune, si entusiasm, inlesnindu-ne foarte mult drumul prin jungla vietii.

Artele martiale in China - Kung fu

O radacina principala a artelor martiale provine din China (de unde se raspandeste si prin celealte tari), un sinonim fiind si termenul kung fu, in traducere munca intensa, munca grea, munca care tinde sa ajunga la perfectiune.

Kung fu este strans legat cu filosofia si medicina traditionala de unde reiese ca o arta martiala poate fi si o cale serioasa spirituala de autodezvoltare si cunoastere.

Termenul sifu in traducere tata spiritual sau maestru deci trebuia sa fie un filosof, un medic sau farmacist si deseori calugar budist in acelasi timp.

Cum alegem o arta martiala care ni se potriveste?

Artele martiale de astazi, in evolutia lor au suferit multe schimbari, unele utile din punct de vedere martial altele d.p.d.v artistic (estetic) sau al sanatatii ajungandu-se la pierderea unor atribute foarte esentiale astfel incat s-a ajuns la practicarea luptei brute, in ring cu mai multe sau mai putine reguli, sau la executarea unor miscari estetice, care ar ajuta practicantul intr-o lupta imaginara, indepartandu-ne astfel foarte mult din principiile filosofice, si practicile de imbunatatire a sanatatii fizice si mentale, si in ambele cazuri o usoara deviere din cea ce ar putea sa ne ofere realitatea intr-o situatie conflictuala imprevizibila.

Asadar, kung fu fara principiile traditionale si filosofice devine o stiinta inumana despre durere si distrugere.

Dar trebuie subliniat ca baza acestei dezvoltari fizice si spirituale presupune lupta pentru aparare, martialitate care prin tehnicile si abilitatile dobandite elimina, frica, nesiguranta si prin ele ura si agresivitatea, ajungandu-se la o persoana echilibrata care prin atitudine ferma, siguranta in sine si actiune nonviolenta rezolva situatiile grele sau violente.

Un agresor putin probabil va impartasi aceleasi idei crestine, sau budiste… din moment ce decide sa ne faca rau, va fi necesar sa ne aparam cu tot ce am dobandit. aceasta este prima faza in practica artelor martiale, dar in momentul cand abilitatea de lupta ajunge la nivel de arta incepe si spiritualitatea, eliminarea fricilor si complexelor care ne-ar duce la o echilibrare psihofizica si un mod de viata asa cum ne dorim.

Pe scurt, am spus unele din principiile care ar trebui sa caracterizeze o arta martiala, precum si practicantii ei, acum ramane la bunul gust si ratiunea fiecaruia, dar ceva este sigur: orice arta martiala practicata este mai buna decat una nepracticata.

Inainte sa judecati incercati-le si alegeti singuri ce vi se potriveste.

O sa termin cu cea ce a spus cineva foarte drag mie: Fiti blanzi precum porumbeii, si isteti precum serpii!
